Rates and Fees

We are aware of how important the subject of fees is to you. We pledge to discuss our fees with you at your first meeting with one of our lawyers.

Your first office conference is free and we will discuss our fees and retainers with you at that time. Where possible, we will estimate the entire cost of your legal matter.

Attorneys charge fess in several different ways. There are flat fees. Some matters, such as real estate, are predictable enough that we can quote a flat fee. Currently, we charge $450.00 to represent the seller or buyer in a typical sale or purchase of a residence. We will be involved in every step of the process.

To prepare a simple will, a living will and powers of attorney, we typically charge $450.00 for a single person and $650.00 for a married couple.

If your real estate transaction is unusual, or your estate plan requires a more sophisticated approach, your attorney will discuss that with you at your first office conference.

Finally, attorney's fees in many matters are determined by the amount of the attorney's time and matter takes. This commonly referred to as hourly billing. In our office, divorce and post-decree matters are handled on an hourly fee basis. The hourly rates of our attorney's currently range from $195.00 per hour up to $250.00 per hour. Even in most cases, where possible, we will try to give you an estimate of the total fees. Most matters are billed monthly so that you can keep track of your fees and costs as they are incurred. Other matters that are handled on an hourly fee basis include estate administration, commercial real estate transaction, more sophisticated estate planning, and the representation of business clients. We accept Visa and Mastercard.

Remember that one of the benefits of having an attorney represent you in your matter is that there may be court appearances that your attorney can do without you, which will avoid the necessity of taking off work and being personally present in court. If you are shopping for legal services, be certain that you understand that and that you ask your lawyer about that.

We try to provide honest representation at reasonable rates.
